The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has cared for animals of all sizes and species for over 150 years. They know how important conservation is as well as the physical and mental well-being of the animals. That is why they introduce objects to encourage play and special treats.

In celebration of Halloween (or HallZOOween), they provided pumpkins to many of the animals who either quickly devoured them or played with their food before eating it.

Animals are so fascinating and watching them interact with one another and new items is a special treat. Check out the photos and videos shared by the zoo on their Facebook page.

Brazilian porcupine named Rico had a Halloween party of his own filled with pumpkins, ghosts, and treats, of course.

Lemurs went right for the meat of the pumpkin for a tasty treat. Check out the inside view below.

The resident cheetahs received a pumpkin carved with a cheetah face. They purred in delight at the new toy that they carefully inspected.

The hippos displayed how quickly their powerful jaws can destroy a large pumpkin. Impressive for sure. Check it out.

A crow named Tippi also joined in on the festivities by showing off her problem-solving skills. The zoo wrote, "Tippi the crow is Scary Smart! Watch her show off her incredible intelligence and problem solving abilities to get to a yummy snack."

Another Halloween highlight was a gorilla named Elle who made a DIY "costume". The staff thought she was trying to go as a lion for Halloween, but others suggested she was paying tribute to the late Dolly Parton. What do you think?

This one is for all cat parents - it is so true for all cat species!

It appears that all the animals had a scary-good time. Be sure to follow Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden to learn more about the residents and watch more entertaining animal videos.
