Deadly floods wiped out entire villages in Nepal on August 26 as the death toll continues to climb. As of August 31, at least 939 people have been killed with more than 4,200 still missing.

Families are hoping to be reunited with loved ones, including lost pets. Amid all the death and devastation, comes a reunion story to give hope to those still waiting. 

A deaf dog named Sweetie survived on her own in a flooded home until rescuers arrived to save her.  Rescuers carried the small dog in the bucket of construction equipment being used to dig out survivors.

She was reunited with her concerned mom in a touching video captured and shared by NBC News. The woman reached out for her precious dog and immediately folded her into a hug. The dog replied by wagging her tail with joy.
