Lyutyi was found on the streets of Ukraine barely alive with blood oozing out of multiple bite wounds on his body and head.

Rescuer rushed to his aid, but were unsure if he would survive the night.

The estimated nine-year-old dog is suffering from deep wounds, necrotic skin, hypovolemic shock, anemia, and critically low blood protein levels. 

His battered body and severe wounds tell the sad story of his life on the streets in a war zone. He clearly hasn’t had a good meal in a long time and further examination proved he was so hungry that he ate anything he could find. 

X-rays revealed his stomach is full of foreign debris and a nail is lodged in his gastrointestinal tract.

Once he is strong enough, he will need surgery to remove the nail and debris as well ongoing care for his deep wounds and necrosis on his neck and head.

One of his ears is severely damaged and the medical team is doing all they can to save it.

Lyutyi is a fighter and refuses to give up. Despite all the pain and suffering, he attempts to stand and eat food out of his caretakers’ hands. This gives them hope that he can pull through this. 

His road to recovery will be long and expensive and he needs your support to get the care he needs to heal. In addition to surgery, he will need special hydrogel dressings applied daily to his wounds as well as antibiotics and pain medication.
