Suspected Bait Dog Rescued from Streets of Oklahoma is Finally Getting Care He Needs
Your donations of pet supplies through Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program are transforming the lives of pets, like Rocky.
A skinny dog covered in wounds found wandering on a rural road arrived at Oklahoma Pet Collective Society (OPCS) in dire need of help.
The poor dog is thought to be a former bait dog due to the number of scars and fresh wounds covering his face and body. He was named Rocky by the rescue due to his "immense courage and resilience".
In addition to the countless wounds, he suffered from ear and eye infections as well as wounds on his paws that made it painful to walk. He is on pain medication and antibiotics as he starts the long road to recovery.
He was leery of people at first, and rightfully so. However, now that he knows he is safe and protected he is starting to show his true personality. The rescue told us, "Rocky is the sweetest boy that only want to be loved. He has already flourished in the short amount of time he has been with us, and we cannot wait to see him completely healed, mentally and physically."
Even though he has endured unimaginable pain and suffering, he remains a gentle soul who loves to be around humans.
Your donations of nutritious dog food and pet supplies through Greater Good Charities' GOODS program has helped Rocky regain his strength and also helped the rescue use the saved money on food and supplies to cover his medical costs.
Rocky will get the second chance he deserves and sends his thanks for your support. "The generous donations we receive from this program are so vital and important in helping us continue our mission of saving dogs like Rocky. Thank you, from all of us at OPCS."
