ISHAS was founded in 2011 and to date we have rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed more than 4300 homeless animals. Each of these animals were spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Some have required extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation. Our facility is a Sanctuary, which differs greatly from a shelter or rescue. We make a lifelong commitment to each of our animals to provide a permanent residence in our protective environment until we can find a suitable adopter. We are committed to providing all the vetting, medications, supplies, food and love to each of our animals. Because some of our residents are long-term, we strive to provide a home-like setting, free of the stress that is found in a typical shelter. To maintain a comfortable atmosphere, we do not allow "walk-through tours" or unscheduled visits with our pets. Our facility is their home, for whatever amount of time is needed. There is rarely a day that our facility is not at full (and some days over) capacity.
