Little Rhody Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue and quarantine facility located in Rhode Island, we strive to find safe homes for underprivileged and neglected dogs. We are made up of a small group of friends who share a love for dogs, with Kate Healey Dubuque being the founder and President of the rescue.She is also a veterinary Technician and Ex Animal Control Officer. All of our dogs are rescued from animal shelters in Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina and Tennessee that are considered to be "high kill" shelters. They are then tested for disease, spayed and neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, de-wormed and administered preventions for fleas, ticks and heart worm. We are licensed as a rescue and quarantine Facility in the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. To date, Little Rhody Rescue has adopted over 6,500 shelter dogs to loving wonderful families since it's meager beginnings in 2002. We are fortunate to have the ability to fully quarantine any animal going into any state that mandates it. Additionally, this allows us to stop the potential spread of disease if and when it occurs.
