The Animal Protection League is an open admission animal shelter in Madison County, Indiana. We take in any and all stray animals and owner surrenders within the city limits of Anderson and surrounding counties. The shelter regularly houses as many as 80-100+ dogs and 200+ cats. Our mission is to protect and help unwanted animals, educate and raise awareness to animal care and treatment, develop low-cost spay and neuter programs, and fight against animal abuse. Programs initiated include the FIDO Prison Program, 9 Lives Cat Prison Program, The Cat Sanctuary, FORWARD Prison Program, and Saving Max.
