3rd Annual Paws in Peril Care-A-Thon Funds Emergency Medical Care for Sick & Injured Animals
Andrea Powell
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity during our 3rd Annual Paws in Peril Care-A-Thon. Together, we were able to help numerous sick and injured dogs and cats.
Your donations are saving and improving lives. Animals in need of emergency medical care arrive at shelters nationwide daily. Shelters are overcrowded, underfunded, and unable to afford medical care.

Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical Care fund steps in to help with the medical care and gives them the second chance they deserve, thanks to your continued support.
Read updates on some of the animals you helped save during our Care-A-Thon. The animals send soft purrs, tails wags, and wet kisses for your support.
Tony

This poor dog was found in horrible condition with a broken chain around his neck and a bleeding mass on his head. He is finally getting the care he needs and is undergoing treatment for the transmissible venereal tumor on his face.
He is learning to trust humans again and while shy at first, he turns into a friendly fella once he warms up to a person.
Thank you for giving him a second chance.
Winston

Winston has been in excruciating pain with a fractured spinal cord and pelvis from severe malnutrition. He is finally eating a balanced diet, and his pain is being managed with IV pain medication.

The ten-month-old kitten will be put up for adoption once he has fully recovered. In the meantime, he is being cared for by a loving foster home who is ensuring he gets the nutrition and care he needs to grow big and strong.
Cookie

Cookie was found with severe burns covering 30% of her body and was at risk of euthanasia. She was rescued and - with your support - received the vital surgery to amputate her damaged front leg and surgically repair the open wounds on her back and torso.
She is adjusting well to live on three legs and tolerating her daily wound care. Once Cookie heals, the shelter will help her find a loving forever home.
Kiki

Kiki survived being cruelly shot with a pellet gun which resulted in a shattered front leg. Your donations helped her get the amputation surgery and ongoing medical care she needed to recover.
The shelter told us, "Kiki is recovering well and her condition does not prevent her from being adopted. Although she has lost one leg, she moves around confidently. Her gentle personality makes her a good candidate for adoption."
She is learning that not all humans are bad and soon will find a loving home of her own.
Tygryk

Tygryk's front legs were crushed, infected, and unrepairable when he arrived at the emergency animal hospital. The only way to save his life was to amputate both front legs.
Your support helped cover his medical bills and are continuing to help him as he adjusts to his new life. His caretakers shared, "Despite the seriousness of the procedure, his prognosis is good: Tygryk has already begun to adapt by balancing on his hind legs, showing great resilience and curiosity about the world around him."
Perla

This senior dog was abandoned on the side of the road covered in matted fur and suffering from kidney stones and dental disease. She was rescued and started on pain medication and antibiotics.
The shelter shared, "The veterinary team removed several diseased teeth to ease her pain when eating, and most critically, they extracted a massive kidney stone the size of a quarter—unbelievably large for her tiny body."
Without this treatment, her condition would have been fatal. Your donations helped save her life.
Phoenix

Phoenix became trapped under the rubble of a destroyed building during one of many bombings on his Ukrainian village. He was rescued by locals and rushed to an emergency vet with deep lacerations and in immense pain.
He has begun treatment and remains on pain medication and antibiotics as his body begins to heal. Your donations are helping with his medical care which involves daily wound cleaning and care.
Thank you again for helping these homeless animals get the care they need to survive and thrive. Join us in helping save more lives as sick and injured animals continue to arrive at shelters. Together, we CAN make a difference.
